 Preventative Care

Good oral hygiene is important, not only for maintaining an attractive smile but for your overall health as well. The American Dental Association recommends visiting the dentist twice a year for a cleaning and checkup, and maintaining your oral health through good home care.

Early detection of cavities and gum disease is essential, so problem areas can be treated before they cause extensive tooth damage. To detect dental problems at their earliest stages, we use the DIAGNOdent laser-a laser that can detect the smallest of cavities before they can be seen by visual inspection. In addition, we have an intra-oral camera to help identify potential problems immediately.

In today's world, more and more people understand the importance of healthy, attractive teeth. In addition to educating our patients on maintaining a home oral health care routine, our preventative care services can help patients improve their oral health.

    Our preventive care services include:
  • Cleanings
  • Sports mouth guards
  • Night guards
  • Sealants

We make visiting the dentist easy and convenient with our evening and Saturday hours. Call today to make an appointment.

 Cosmetic Services

Cosmetic dentistry can enhance your appearance and help you look and feel your best. There are many different cosmetic procedures to help a variety of smile problems including:

Teeth whitening

Get a bright, white smile in as little as an hour. We offer in-office, chair-side bleaching and take-home whitening kits to give you a bright, white smile conveniently and affordably.

Veneers

Veneers are a fantastic option to correct front teeth. We can whiten teeth, close gaps and help create a perfect smile with veneers. By placing a thin layer of porcelain over your existing teeth, veneers can give your teeth strength, beauty and durability for the smile of a lifetime.

Bonding

By bonding a tooth-colored resin over your teeth, you can enhance the appearance of your smile.

Gum contouring

If you have been told you've a "gummy smile," then gum contouring or a gum lift might be right for you. With the use of a soft-tissue laser to reshape the gum line, this remarkable yet simple cosmetic procedure can make a tremendous difference to your smile.

 Restorative Services

Restorative dental care refers to the restoration of a natural tooth that is missing or has been damaged by decay. From full mouth restorations to a single tooth restoration to root canals and extractions, we can develop a treatment plan that will work for you and within your budget.

Our restorative services include:

Tooth-colored fillings

Tooth-colored fillings help keep your smile looking natural. We only offer tooth-colored fillings because they require the removal of less of the healthy part of a tooth to hold the filling in place. In addition, the composite materials bond to teeth better and they are more natural-looking than traditional silver fillings.

Dentures and partials

Removable dentures and partials are a good option to replace missing teeth. Dentures and partials can restore aesthetics and function and prevent bone loss where missing teeth were located.

Single-Visit Crowns

A porcelain crown is an excellent option to replace a chipped, discolored or decayed tooth. While most traditional crown restorations require more than one trip to the dentist, CEREC technology allows us to place a permanent crown in a single appointment. No temporary crowns, no follow up appointments. Just a pearly white crown placed in a single-visit.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are artificial, permanent tooth replacements for a missing tooth or teeth. Patients with missing teeth may feel too self-conscious to smile or talk. Dental implants can restore function and improve chewing and speaking abilities in addition to improving self-confidence. For more information about dental implants visit the American Dental Association to learn more.

Call us today to learn more about single-visit crowns or to see if you are good candidate for dental implants or dentures.

 Periodontal Therapy

Periodontal disease, also known as gum disease, left untreated can lead to tooth loss. Gum disease has also been linked to other health problems including heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis, some cancers and diabetes. That is why at Marian C. Pilecki, DDS, we believe in the importance of identifying and treating gum disease in its earliest stages. In addition to helping you develop a regular home care routine, we will plan regular hygiene appointments. Depending on the progression of the gum disease, we can also use the soft-tissue laser to kill bacteria in periodontal pockets-a procedure that is minimally invasive and offers quicker healing time.

Based on the American Dental Association, the following are signs or symptoms of gum disease:

  • Gums that bleed easily
  • Red, swollen, tender gums
  • Gums that have pulled away from the teeth
  • Persistent bad breath or bad taste
  • Permanent teeth that are loose or separating
  • Any change in the way your teeth fit together when you bite
  • Any change in the fit of partial dentures

Remember, it is possible to have periodontal disease and have no symptoms. That is why regular dental checkups and periodontal examinations are very important to maintaining your oral health and overall health.

We can help. Call us today if you are experiencing any signs or symptoms of gum disease.
